Another Italian souvenir: olive oil can, long spout actually does help to more "gingerly" douse the oil. Have not seen simular ones stateside.

frying pan

Bought a new steel frying pan this winter in Rome, easily my favorite, replaces a very beat-up copper frying pan, although the steel has "patinated" in the short time I have been using it... Not as heavy as cast iron, so it heats fairly quickly but it does have a bit of heft. (Saw one at Williams Sonoma recently, but they are at least 25% less money in France or Italy.)
